Our client is a is a well-established, privately-owned service providing company, headquartered in Zug, Switzerland. The company is a global organization with more than 20 offices worldwide, handling more than 100 different petrochemicals and energy products. The product range grows organically with evolving market conditions and includes crude oil, petroleum products, petrochemicals, biofuels, circular feedstock, and renewables. The company has manufacturing plants for biofuels in Connecticut and Texas, USA. It’s subsidiary in Singapore is looking for a Chartering Manager to take responsibility for performing and supervising all fixtures and assist in post-fixtures activities, negotiating charter parties with operators, charterers, and brokers and sourcing for optimal shipping solutions for their petrochemical, olefin, and biodiesel cargos.
Responsibilities
- Negotiate and execute short- to long-term freight contracts.
- Follow spot freight market for monitoring open vessels positions.
- Coordinate with internal team colleagues for planning and scheduling.
- Work on shipping schedule concordant with customers and suppliers’ orders.
- Liaise with international freight providers for planning and operational issues.
- Collect and process information about the vessel’s itinerary, berth prospects, cargo operations and daily follow up on vessel’s performance with relevant parties.
- Optimize and manage supply chain within the scope of Chartering Department responsibility.
- Take control of internal and external workflow in line with corporate standards.
- Take control over freight payment to service providers.
- Assist the demurrage team in settling claims commercially if required.
- Prepare market analysis, freight budget planning and performance reports.
- Provide market insight and contribute to medium- to long-term shipping planning.
- Negotiate freight rates and contract of affreightment / Spot fixtures and Time Charters for in and out, according to budget & terms of sale/purchase and according to the needs of the trading Department.
- Establish a good network of Owners and Brokers, and Vessel Agents, brokers, freight forwarders and liner agents, formalize requests from the traders and analyze the Owner’s / Broker’s offer, for all shipments as and when required.
- Manage relationships within a regional network of ship owners and ship brokers for all shipping activities.
- Participate in the budget process and provide freight rates for CIF/CFR sales.
- Report periodically as specified, on market developments and market intelligence on the freight market.
- Follow the Compliance rules and processes.
Reporting:
- Monthly to quarterly reports for Business Units which include freight market evolution, market outlook, coverage strategy, performance of current COA.
- Gather market intelligence on competition, cargoes on the market, market reports.
- Inform management, trading & strategy departments accordingly.
Required skills & experiences:
- Working in a team environment and yet being responsible for one’s own files for the respective Chartering section.
- Working and aligning work with colleagues of the Chartering Team worldwide
- Languages: fluent English and Mandarin, other language is an advantage.
- Strong background and knowledge of Liquid Chemical, Biofuels & Gas Vessels and Freight markets and vessels chartering, robust business network community is an advantage.
- Advanced knowledge of international shipping and trading practices as well as the maritime law basics.
- Work experience: min 8 years of relevant experience preferably in shipping or commodity trading company or major oil/Petrochemical company.
- Personal competencies: communication skills, organization and planning skills, attention to details, ability to work under pressure and solve problems, flexibility and pro-active approach, ability to work in a team and independently.
- Good knowledge of software applications
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to work within a multi-cultural environment.

In line with this expansion, they are seeking an experienced Technology Manager who oversees major manufacturing assembly functions and technology development initiatives. Additionally, this individual is expected to serve a mentorship role among the operational or engineering staff as well as to advise the company leadership on the best strategic paths to take on a given initiative.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Serve as the operational/technical leader on major manufacturing initiatives such as new manufacturing process adoption and existing process improvement.
- Serve as the technical lead with outside entities.
- Ensure process stability and the achievement of operational KPIs including the lead time for new products.
- Interface directly with select customers on relevant projects.
- Provide company leadership with technical trade-offs and risks pertaining to project work as well as general engineering efforts such that company leadership may make informed decisions.
- In some cases, manage and mentor a team of operational/technical staff including engineers/interns.
- Attend and/or present at external training and seminars to further the operational/technical exposure of the company and to keep up to date on the latest in manufacturing technology.
- Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Education/Experience:
Min BS and MS or PhD in Engineering or Physics or equivalent experience; 15+ years’ experience preferably in the related industry with a strong focus on manufacturing and assembly.

Our client is looking for an experienced APAC Category Manager – Transportation to join their changing and transforming APAC procurement team. The role will be responsible for coordinating all external procurement activities for the category across APAC, including the development and implementation of category strategies (short, mid, and long term) and plans to support designated APAC-wide strategic objectives. Unlike traditional chemical industries, this position will manage primarily the road transportation of the industrial gases in the form of cryogenic liquid or high-pressure gases, which are classified as dangerous goods and heavily regulated by authorities. Responsibilities
- Work together with primary partners to develop high-level strategy in the categories assigned, including make-or-buy strategy.
- Execute and manage highly effective, collaborative sourcing strategies to accelerate impactful business partnerships
- Track performance within each spend category and define budgetary impact
- Monitor strategy implementation and contract compliance
- Drive best practices
- Champion and secure TCO reductions for the category across sectors and regions
- Oversee development/ execution of strategies of site buyers. Support sector execution issue resolution.
- Lead the process to select and manage suppliers
- Measure and track internal performance within sector and site
- Drive annual productivity improvements
- Develop an expertise in the global procurement spend categories
- Provide assistance to acquisition strategies by completing due diligence and integration activities for spend
- Designing and developing strategy
- Knowledge of supplier base, develop and meet specific category needs
Location:
Suitable candidates can be located within the company’s offices in either Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or Shanghai.
The successful candidate will have:
- 12+ years working experience of successful category management and purchasing within a global environment, with mechanical or chemical engineering educational background. BA or equivalent advanced training preferable.
- Or 5+ years of working experience of technical or product domains in the industrial gas industrial sector, with in depth understanding of the key technology/process, as well as key equipment and services, with mechanical or chemical engineering
- Educational background. BA or equivalent advanced training preferable.
- Extensive demonstrable experience in successfully leading and conducting the negotiation of contracts across technical, commercial and legal areas
- Proven experience in building and nurturing positive internal relationships with senior management, key users and business Stakeholders.
- Proven experience in building and nurturing positive external relationships with Vendors & Suppliers
- Proven track record of consistent performance and delivery.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to champion the vision of the organization.
- Readiness for internal resistances the company is transforming the APAC procurement function.
- Mobility in terms of frequent travel – coverage of all APAC countries (12 countries).
