New Flexible Work Guidelines in Singapore – Effective December 1, 2024

Starting December 1, 2024, employees in Singapore will gain the right to request Flexible Work Arrangements (FWAs). Although employers are not required to grant these requests, they must consider them and provide explanations if a request is denied.

During COVID-19, many of us experienced a high level of workplace flexibility, but recently there’s been a noticeable shift back to full-time, in-office work with fewer alternatives.

What do you think? Will this new guideline support work-life balance, or could it pose challenges for businesses?
