CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER - BANKING - INDONESIA
A large multinational financial institution is looking for a Chief Operations Officer to be responsible for the Indonesian Operation across business lines that include retail banking, wealth management and corporate banking.

SUMMARY POSITION DESCRIPTION:

• Responsible for ensuring that an effective strategy is developed and implemented to maximise the efficiencies of operations (trade finance, operations, remittances, loan administration, treasury operations, information technology and security) in Indonesia.
• Responsible for the information technology resource operations by effective management of application development, technical services, user/network support services, data processing and operations centre activities.
• Ensure that all technology decisions made for a business function are consistent with corporate standards on technology.
• Reporting to Country Manager

POSITION RESPONSIBILITY:

• Developing strategies and supporting infrastructure to maximise the efficiencies of the operations department.
• Liaise with senior management in front and back office to ensure that the business needs are met in a timely and accurate fashion and to support customer relationships in the long term.
• Implementing risk and security policies and strategies as set by the Bank. Advising/giving input to Branch strategy/policy making decisions.
• Full budgetary accountability for department and manages resources within cost constraints.
• Good understanding of operation functions and ensuring that the function is appropriately staffed to match the strategic direction of the bank.
• Optimising Financial Resourcing.
• Working with global and regional functional managers on operation and technology strategy, global or regional projects or critical issues that require the attention or coordination of their involvement.
• Maintains a trusted advisor relationship with business users to understand business strategies and to implement technology initiatives which will address the correct needs.
• Defines and promotes the use of consistent methodologies, policies and procedures.
• Manages staff and ensures that the appropriate skills are current with the technology deployed.
• Manage the system development team including operations, projects, systems development, appraisal, training and developments.
